So a while back Maria over at I Love you more than Cookies tagged me for some awesome blog fun! It has taken me a while to actually put this up on my blog to answer (sorry about that), but here goes!

1. I HATE chicken. I have tried it baked, boiled, fried, and pretty much every other way you can fix it and it still does nothing for me. I always get a lot of weird looks about this and one time someone actually told me I was unamerican because I don’t eat it. That was a little much…but whatever.

2. This may shock some people but my political views fall mostly in line with the Libertarian Party. The government is in our lives way to much and for the most part they need to just butt out. It’s to bad that there will never be a major libertarian candidate and I will have to choose between two dumbos.

3. I can’t spread my toes apart. Yup. That’s right.

4. I put ketchup on steak and shrimp and pretty much every other meat there is. Don’t know why but it makes the meat taste soooo good!

5. I nursed my son for 14 months and the experience has caused my to become a HUGE breastfeeding advocate. I am most likely going to try to become a lactation consultant. This could take a while since I want to stay home with my kids but it will happen someday….

6. I don’t wear makeup. I never have. At this point I am so glad that as a girl I never had an interest in it. Turns out in can actually do your skin more harm than good…

7. I love to take bubble baths!!! They are so comforting and relaxing. When we finally get to buy a house the master bathroom will be the most important room. The tub will be huge!

Ok…there are 7 random facts about me! Now it’s your turn:

Sweet Pea is finally big enough to climb onto his rocking horse all by himself! He gets on and rocks and then puts his feet onto the floor and scoots around the room. He also stops occasionally to pet the mane. How cute is that?!

So whenever we go to Starbucks, which sadly is not as often as I would like, I always have the barista make a small cup of water for Sweet Pea. He loves it! He walks around with his cup like Momma’s and thinks he is such a big man! Of course, most of the water either ends up on him or the floor. But it’s so much fun it is worth the mess. Have a look at all the fun:

The past few days Sweet Pea has really started to get interested in our clothes. Yesterday he went into Elmo’s closet and pulled out a pair of dress socks and wanted us to put them on him. So he walked around all evening with his Daddy’s dress socks pulled up to his thighs. Tonight he wanted to wear Elmo’s belt. So he walked around with that on for a while. I may be making a trip to Salvation Army to find some cheap male clothes and make a dress up box for Sweet Pea. What fun!

A few days ago we went to the park to feed the ducks and of course I am just now getting around to putting the pictures on the computer. But anyways, it was so much fun! Sweet Pea loved how all the ducks gathered around us asking for more food. He pointed and said “da” the whole time we were there. In case you were wondering, “da” is his word for pretty much any animal we encounter.

The funniest part was whenever I gave Sweet Pea a piece of bread to throw to the ducks he promptly put it in his mouth and then asked for more. He thought it was snack time for him! Enjoy the pictures!

Everyone in our household is now healthy so I will spend some time telling you about the retreat that I went on this past Friday night. It was amazing. I haven’t been on a retreat in more than three years and once I was there I could tell that it was what I have needed all along. With the stress of life I thought I just needed a little break and time to myself but what I really needed was time with my Lord. It’s amazing how the longer we go without being in the presence of the Lord the more that we convince ourselves that we don’t need it. But when that happens we just become more and more stressed out and don’t know how to deal with it.

Thinking back I realize that when I used to go on retreats every few months my life was peaceful and exciting. I would go to a retreat and spend quality time with the Lord which would get me excited about spending time in the Word. A few months later the time would come when life was becoming stressful again and spending time in the Bible became too time consuming. This is when I would always go on a retreat again, become reacquainted with the Lord and become excited about His word and what He was doing in my life. Somewhere along the line I thought I could just do it all myself and there was no need for retreats. That is when life got hard and stressful.

This weekend’s retreat was called “Come Away With Me”. Very fitting for I needed to relearn that it is important to take a weekend every so often and spend it with God. It was a very intimate evening spent with God and my fellow sisters in Christ. We laughed and cried and prayed together all weekend.

If you find yourself feeling down or overwhelmed, just remember that time spent with God can do wonders.

So on most nights I go to bed way before Elmo does. When he comes to bed I have pretty much taken over the entire space. I am laying on both sides of the bed and have all the covers. We all know that when you are woken up you are not rational. I was just informed that last night we had a rather amusing and nonsensical conversation. Here it is as told my my hubby:

Me: You’re in my space.
He: I’m really not.
Me: Yes you are.
He: No, I’m not.
Me: You just moved closer.
He: I had to, you took the whole blanket.
Me: Well, take some of it back.
(pause)
Me: You’re still in my space.
He: I’m at the edge of the bed.
Me: Well, turn around then.
(silence)

Don’t you just love middle of the night conversations that make no sense?
